Continuous level measurement and point level detection in liquids and bulk solids
Constant product quality, plant safety and economic efficiency - these are important aspects for any level measuring point. Levels in liquids, pastes, bulk solids or liquefied gases are often measured in tanks, silos or movable containers. For continuous, interface and density measurement as well as for point level detection a broad range of measuring principles is available. Endress+Hauser supports you from planning through commissioning and also maintenance of your measuring point.

Level measurement
Our product finder helps you to search for suitable measuring devices, software or system components via product characteristics. Applicator leads you through an individual product selection via application parameters.
When radar or guided microwave transmitters unexpectedly jump up the scale it can be due to a number of reasons;
Increased noise at the antenna due to build-up or condensation
Reduction in target echo strength due to foam formation or turbulence
Incorrect parameter setting or lack of mapping to the empty vessel during commissioning
The Micropilot free-space radar and Levelflex guided microwave transmitters from Endress+Hauser feature Multi-Echo tracking to help ensure reliable operation.
When dealing with foaming media the general principle is the lower the transmission frequency of the microwave device, the better the penetration of foam.
The Levelflex guided microwave transmitter from Endress+Hauser operates at 1GHz and is capable of reliably following liquid level below foam, but it is not well suited to vessels with agitation.
The Micropilot free-space radar transmitter from Endress+Hauser is available in three different frequencies.
It is possible to measure the interface between two liquid media if there is a big enough difference in density (with a float displacer), conductivity (with a capacitance probe) or dielectric (with a guided microwave transmitter).
The Endress+Hauser Levelflex FMP55 combines guided microwave and capacitance technologies to improve detection of the interface layer even with an emulsion present.
Radar level measurement offers reliable non-contact, maintenance-free measurement in liquids and bulk solids. Micropilot sensor is a safe solution even under extreme process conditions.
Vibronic point level detection offers safe overfill prevention in liquids and bulk solids. Liquiphant and Soliphant switches are the safe solution even under extreme process conditions.
Guided radar level measurement offers reliable measurement in liquids and bulk solids. Levelflex sensor is a safe solution even under extreme process conditions.
Non-contact ultrasonic level measurement works in liquids and bulk solids. Prosonic level sensors are a proved as well as cost-effective solution for level measurement.
Capacitance continuous level measurement and point level detection works in liquids and bulk solids. Liquicap, Liquipoint, Solicap and Minicap sensors are simple and cost-effective probes.
Hydrostatic level measurement with pressure transmitters for liquid applications. Deltapilot or Waterpilot devices with Contite measuring cell are unaffected by possible foam formation.
Float switch level measurement is a simple and cost-effective solution for point level detection in liquids. Liquifloat works as pump protector or level alarm in open basins.
Differential pressure measurement for level, volume or mass measurement in liquids. The Deltabar transmitter is a reliable solution in the process industry.
Radiometric level measurement offers non-contact continuous measurement and point level detection in liquids or solids. Radiometric sensors are a safe solution even under extreme process conditions.
Servo level measurement provides continuous level measurement in liquids. The tank gauging instrument Proservo is used for custody transfer and inventory control applications.
