Wedge meters are differential pressure devices designed for tough flow conditions involving viscous fluids, slurries, and abrasive media. Their V-shaped restriction allows solids to pass through without clogging, making them ideal for chemical, wastewater, and oil & gas applications. They offer reliable, bidirectional flow measurement, tolerate high pressure and temperature, and require minimal straight pipe lengths, delivering dependable performance even in harsh environments.
Benefits
They offer a low maintenance option with the V-shaped restriction and no moving parts allowing for solids to pass through easily and resist erosion. The design also allows for the element to be bidirectional.
They produce a high level of accuracy at ±0.5 – 1% when calibrated and ±5% when uncalibrated while also having a high level of repeatability of ±0.1-0.2% for each reading.
The robust design means they are suitable for a range of harsh environments such as high pressure and temperature, and media like viscous fluids, slurries, abrasive and corrosive flows.
