Detect conductivity variations in the water/ steam circuit

Avoid high conductivity that damages turbine blades and low conductivity that increases corrosion

The conductivity measurement indicates the quantity of dissolved solids that are present and how likely they are to create some scaling. Conductivity of pure water is almost zero and even a small addition of salt can increase conductivity dramatically. Thus, you can use the conductivity parameter to detect leakages in your water/ steam circuit.

Cation or acid conductivity: measure only impurities

The cation conductivity is measured behind the cation exchanger on the SWAS panel. It indicates the impurities caused by leakages.

Degassed conductivity

Degassed conductivity is measured behind the cation exchanger and behind a degassing system on the SWAS panels. This value indicates only the impurities. It is an important parameter after the start up of the turbine since higher concentration of air in the process water can simulate impurities.

More reliable monitoring

We offer a wide range of multi-parameter transmitters to fit to your needs. These transmitters from our Liquiline product line:

  • Are quick and easy to commission

  • Have standardized and intuitive operation

  • Are easily expandable

  • Are based on Memosens digital sensor technology

  • Are compact or panel mounted for more simplicity

Normal conductivity: measure impurities - caustic corrosion

The normal conductivity parameter measures the complete salt concentration including caustic substances, impurities and carbon dioxide from air. This can be influenced by air leaks, caustic dosing to stabilize the pH value, air leakages or start up of the turbines.
