Georg H Endress begins developing his own measuring instruments. He registers his first patent with the Swiss Confederate Office for Intellectual Property. |

Launch of Nivotester and Silometer. The devices are produced in a former joiner's shop and surrounding buildings in Lörrach, jokingly named the 'United Shed Factory' by the employees. |

Endress+Hauser moves into the PCB production business - the new subsidiary Photo Print Electronic GmbH (PPE) starts operations in Schopfheim, Germany.
The same year the Group achieves sales of 24.8 million DM.

Launch of pH probes with Memosens technology. Equipped with a safe and simple plug-in connector, the units use induction for power supply and digital communication and can be pre-calibrated in the laboratory. |
