The growth of the Endress+Hauser Group shows in heavy investments worldwide. In 2007, the Group spent 94.8 million euros on new buildings and facilities - 15.4 million more than the year before. Now, in 2008, Endress+Hauser plans to increase this sum once more and raise investments to 120 million euros.
Building work for the new 15 million euro office and production complex of Endress+Hauser Conducta has started in Gerlingen, Germany. The new building of the competence center for liquid analysis almost trebles the existing ground area and allows optimal production and distribution logistics. A representative visitors' center and purpose-built training rooms will also be added.
Endress+Hauser Flowtec continues to expand its worldwide production capacity, investing almost 10 million euros in the enlargement of its flowmeter production plant in Aurangabad, India. A new building will almost quadruple the effective area to about 8,500 square meters. The new production plants in Greenwood, Indiana in the USA (investment volume: 14 million euros) and in Suzhou near Shanghai in China (12.5 million euros) have begun construction. At the Reinach site, the Endress+Hauser Flowtec has bought a neighboring office and production building - with the costs of purchase, rebuilding and refitting running to about 9.3 million euros and with initial plans for logistics space.
Endress+Hauser Maulburg invests around 5 million euros in a new plant for level and pressure measurement engineering in Aurangabad, India. 15 million euros will be invested in a new development and production center for silicone pressure sensors in Stahnsdorf near Berlin, Germany. The enlargement of the parent plant in Maulburg is nearing completion, with 12 million euros invested in more space for production, research and development. By buying the neighboring area of Magnetic Elektromotoren GmbH, Endress+Hauser also safeguards further options for expansion and development.
More space worldwide for sales, service and logistics
A new 9 million euro service center has been built in Weil am Rhein, Germany to handle logistics and service functions for the sales centers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and for Endress+Hauser Instruments International, a sales support center. Almost 5,000 square meters of effective area has been created at the location of the German distribution company. By the end of the year, the newly aligned exhibition construction department will also move to Weil am Rhein.
With an extension to its building in Burlington (50 kilometers southwest of Toronto) the Canadian sales center has enlarged its effective area by more than 1,000 square meters to 2,600 square meters. A new laboratory and modern training rooms have also been built, now offering more and better opportunities for the provision fieldbus training. Plans also exist for a new and generous sales building for Endress+Hauser Poland in Wroclaw, where around 4.5 million euros have been earmarked for as many as 80 jobs and modern workplaces over 3,000 square meters.
In the UK, Endress+Hauser's Manchester workforce finally moved to their new building in December 2007. With investments of 6.3 million euros, a striking three-storey building complex combining office, seminar and production rooms was constructed on the existing site. A new visitors' center offers space for up to 120 people. In Bangkok, the people of Endress+Hauser Thailand have also moved to their new sales building. |
